Sinopse: Vânia Medeiros is an artist and independent editor whose work is strongly related to cartography, to the representations of architecture and urban space in art and creation processes in collaboration with the public. Her work materializes in different formats, especially in books, installations and urban intervention. This is a collaborative project between the artist and seven workers of civil construction, in which Vânia Medeiros proposes the creation, to each participant-creator of a notebook with designs on their work routine for a month. Through five 2-hour weekly meetings, in workshops created by the artist, they shared and discussed their work, and each participant-creator was paid the 2-hour equivalent of their working time. Selected for the project Contracondutas, of the Escola da Cidade, the drawings were part of the collective exhibition Diagrama Contracondutasʺ held at the Escola da Cidade in Sao Paulo, from April 8 - May 13, 2017. "This publication is edited by Projeto Contracondutas (Counter-Conducts). Projeto Contracondutas took place between May 2016 and May 2017, through the Escola da Cidadeœs Technical Council, with government funding resulting from the Term of Adjustment of Conduct (TAC) signed between the the [sic] Ministério Péblico do Trabalho (Public Ministry of Labor) and the company found using slavery labor in the construction site of Terminal 3 of Guarulhos International Airport in 2013 (Sao Paulo, Brazil).
