Título: The Ice Prince: Orsini
Autor: Sandra Marton
Sinopse: Like her brothers before her, Anna also distanced herself from her father and put herself through university rather than accept help form her Dad. Now a successful lawyer, in particular a successful litigator with a candid passion for the law and for taking on pro-bono cases. Despite her initial refusal to help her father, when Cesare spun her a sub-story that touched on her weak point (defending the helpless and seeing that justice was done) Anne balked. She will go to Italy and reclaim her mother's ancestral land. Prince Draco Valenti had a gruesome childhood, and has worked hard to put his past behind him and rebuilt the Valenti name and financial empire; after the destruction wrought by his father and grandfather before him. He abhors publicity and scandal, he trusts no one, depends on no one and in fact the entire Valenti investments is owned privately by him and him alone. For some time now he has been in receipt of a series of irritating letters from Cesare Orsini, claiming ownership of the piece of Land in Taormina, Sicily that clearly belonged to his ancestors. However it would seem that his `go away' messages to Orsini had fallen on deaf ears. Cesare Orsini was now threatening him with a court case if his meeting with his representative failed to settle the matter. Draco Valenti would not allow a mobster to intimidate or threaten him. There can only be one course of action, he will meet the Orsini rep and settle this once and for all. The meeting of Anna Orsini and Draco Valenti was flagrantly volatile even before they were introduced. Sparks flew, more than that, the earth shook, from hostility to intense attraction. The opening of this book with their meeting at the airport was impressive, but what was most enthralling was that the high drama, tension and suspense did not wane till the end of the book. It is one of those books you wish will continue or should have been longer. Both lead characters were very well matched; Anne is a modern woman with a stubbornness that will rival a mule, independent and takes no prisoners while Draco on the hand is the original Ice Prince, not easily rattled by anything, neither does he lose control of his emotions or his manners until Anna Orsini happened to him. In my opinion this will go down as one of the best Orsini family series.
